Stand for the Family
by Sharon Slater

May very well be one of the most important books published this decade!

Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  1. Riveting, firsthand experiences that give you an up close and personal view of the various hidden assaults on the family at the UN and at the national, state and local levels.

  2. Documentation, research, and commentary exposing how key institutions are being manipulated to undermine the mother/father family.

  3. Concrete steps that you can take to protect your own family and the institution of the family.

Stand for the Family does all this and more:

Presents compelling eyewitness accounts exposing how powerful groups are manipulating the UN system to undermine families worldwide.

See Chapter 1: Witnessing the Assault at the International Level

Documents examples of how policies created at the UN trickle down to the local level and how they can negatively impact your family.

See Chapter 2:  Exposing the Deception

Summarizes surprising statistics showing the negative outcomes, especially to children, from alternative family structures.

See Chapter 3: The Case for the Traditional Family

Debunks the myth that homosexuality is genetic and unchangeable and explains how homosexuality really develops. Details what the public does not know about the homosexual agenda.

See Chapter 4: The Sexual Rights Movement

Describes a radical anti-mother, anti-life UN Treaty—dubbed the ERA on steroids—that President Obama, Hillary Clinton and others are pressuring the U.S. Senate to ratify.

See Chapter 6: The Assault on Motherhood

Presents well-documented examples to expose the radical sexual ideologies being taught to children through UN programs and in local schools.

See Chapter 7:  The Assault on Our Children’s Sexuality

Explains how adults are using children at the UN to advance sexual rights. Reveals shocking court decisions undermining the rights of parents.

See Chapter 8: The Assault on Parental Rights

Reveals which countries lead worldwide efforts to promote anti-family policies and why some people and groups believe the institution of the family must be replaced.

See Chapter 10: Who Could Be Against the Family and Why?

Presents talking points and research proven to be effective in defending and promoting man/woman marriage.  Explains why protecting marriage has nothing to do with hate.

New book extends a “call to responsible citizens everywhere”
to Stand for the Family

GILBERT, Ariz. (Oct. 6, 2009)—A decade ago, Sharon Slater never pictured herself writing a book about controversial family issues. “I knew then that there were some who didn’t hold the same values as I did, but I had no idea there was a massive movement that was literally working to undermine the institution of the family.”

Sharon has since come to understand—up close and personal—the powerful forces mounted against the family. Sharon, now president of Family Watch International, has worked for the past 10 years as a pro-family advocate at the United Nations and at the national, state and local level to preserve and protect the institution of the family.
Now, in her new book, she shares firsthand accounts, backs them with alarming empirical evidence and, as the title suggests, extends “A call to responsible citizens everywhere” to Stand for the Family.

Sharon wrote the book to accomplish three main goals.

“I felt compelled to make people aware of what is happening behind closed doors at the UN and in their own countries to undermine the family,” she says.

“I wanted to equip legislators, policymakers, educators and responsible citizens with the knowledge and tools they need to defend the family, and third, it was designed to be a gathering tool to bring together good people throughout the world to stand for the family.”

Thanks to a short run that came off the press just hours before she left, Sharon was able to take some copies to the World Congress of Families in Amsterdam in August.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the overwhelmingly positive response to the book. People flocked to our booth and many stated that the book was sorely needed,” she says.

She presented a copy to a King from Ghana and he requested a second book to give to the President of the International Criminal Court, who he was meeting with a few days later. Another person purchased five copies for the Canadian Parliament. A university professor picked up a copy in Amsterdam and has since contacted Sharon with a request to order copies to use in his university courses.

She says the feedback has been equally as positive among “ordinary” citizens.

“You may think the book would only appeal to government leaders or policymakers, but, we have seen quite the opposite,” Sharon says.

One young woman who picked up a book in Amsterdam said she was captivated and stayed up much of the night reading. One couple who read the manuscript before it went to print “used the marriage chapter to help their teenagers overcome misconceptions about homosexuality and same-sex marriage and to help them understand that it is not hateful to protect marriage,” Sharon says.

Sharon adds, “The book is not a profit-making venture for me. All of the proceeds will go to benefit FamilyWatch International and the work to defend the family.”

Books may be purchased at www.standforthefamily.org. That site also explains how individuals may obtain a free copy of Stand for the Family by gathering signatures for the “I Stand for the Family” petition.

“We encourage everyone who can to go online (www.familywatchinternational.org) and sign the ‘I Stand for the Family’ petition, then to print out copies or send the link and encourage others to sign it, too” says Sharon. “The more people who sign it, the stronger our voice becomes when we fight for the family at the international, national, state and local levels.”

To date, individuals in 112 countries have signed the petition, and Family Watch International is hoping to gather many more.
